Via Jan Jursa’s excellent IA TV we found this video of Steve Jobs demo’ing the first Mac. I have to admit that watching this gave me chills. I don’t know if people who started using computers after the Mac was established can appreciate how exciting it was, but with shots of the crowd wildly applauding you get an idea of how we felt. I had used a Sinclair 1000, Commodore 64, and TRS-80 extensively before the Mac came out, but the Mac was the first one that felt limitless, like it offered more than I could take advantage of.
